In the most anticipated SEC matchup of the year so far, head coach Urban Meyer took his Florida Gators into Rocky Top hoping to secure a quality win and impress skeptical voters.

Going into halftime with a small 7-3 lead, the Gators looked to get their offense in rhythm, which only mustered 94 yard of total offense in the first half. They did just that and slowly found a niche with quarterback John Brantley (14/23 167 yards and a TD).

At one point the Gators offense faced a 4th and 6 and responded with a 36 yard run on a fake punt. Eventually, Florida was able to separate themselves from the Volunteers, after a hard fought game by both teams’ defenses (Florida- 317 total offensive yards, Tennessee- 288).

The Gators took the victory at 31-17 over the Volunteers. Florida returns home to take on the University of Kentucky where they hope to remain undefeated as the Volunteers travel to UAB in hopes of breaking their two game losing streak.
